My mother taught ethics all her life. Father is logic. Naturally, both were candidates of science. Later, dad also managed to defend his doctorate. And mother decided that there should be children in a full-fledged family. Therefore, instead of a doctorate, my sister and I appeared.

To say that the concept of “education” was elevated by the parents to a state of worship is to say nothing. We had to study constantly. Sometimes it seemed to me that some information is obtained simply for the sake of obtaining information. But this did not bother the parents. Despite the fact that money for all the needs was constantly not enough, they did not even allow their children (that is, my sister and I) to become teachers. Well, or by researchers, as an option. The concepts of business and earnings aroused in them only a desire to shrug.

It is worth noting that the sister fully met their expectations. Excellent student, winner of international competitions. Immediately after school, she went to college, married her father’s colleague. And I felt some kind of genuine anxiety about her future. Simply, being at family celebrations, I caught myself thinking that her age had become some kind of uncertain. The manner of dressing, interests, outlooks on life and the presence of a spouse who is ten years older somehow aged her. And now I looked more like a little brother.

I wanted something completely different. I dreamed of creating my own business. I wanted a nice house and a beautiful car. And he didn’t want to do the same thing to bored students all his life.

Once, while sitting at an international conference, I watched half the time as special workers washed the windows of the building opposite our conference hall. During breaks, at the end of work and business meetings, I began to notice how many cleanliness assistants were constantly walking around. So for the first time it occurred to me to organize my cleaning company.

But many such firms are already open. And it will not be easy for a beginner to compete. Moreover, I’m not a complete fool and I understand that we need first clients, start-up capital and much more. So, I began to earn extra money by evening cleaning of office premises, combining this with studies at the institute. Parents, when they found out, were slightly shocked. But, a sister came to the rescue, who translated all this into the need for a “normal man to have his personal money”. This somewhat reassured relatives. They took me “honestly” that my part-time jobs would not affect academic performance, and in fact they blessed me with labor.

And I began to understand that this employer does not provide the level of services that I would like to offer. And it is unlikely that I will learn from him anything other than saving on everything and not giving a damn about the staff. Therefore, I began to search further. I will not go into details, but after trial and error, I found work to my liking.

This cleaning company rendered services to regular wealthy clients. I learned many interesting solutions from them, found out the detergents and disinfectants that are used. After working with them for a year, he established himself as a responsible and executive employee, to whom there were no complaints. Therefore, our executive director decided to talk with me. He explained that they are expanding and want to recruit two more teams of workers. Presumably they will work on trips to the suburbs. And they need a senior manager. If the profit is the one that is expected and there will be many orders, the staff will expand, and I will be the leader.

But, this was not the only offer. One of the favorite customers of our company is one, so to say, the wife of a famous person. They have difficult family relationships, but this does not affect the financial well-being of women. On the contrary, it pushes her to create her own business in order not to be left without a livelihood at one point. In communication, she was very pleasant and, surprisingly, not at all arrogant. And now imagine that once I even suggested meeting in a cafe and talking. I was surprised. Can you imagine what came to her mind? Since she is familiar with escort services firsthand, she suggested setting up a company for me where the cleaning services will be carried out by workers in naughty clothes. She will provide patronage to the case. My mind was already spinning from all these suggestions. How many opportunities are everywhere, the main thing is not to make a mistake with the choice.

But at home terrible disappointment awaited me. I forgot to mention that I just successfully completed my studies. Parents were worried about what I would do next: go to graduate school or look for appropriate work. I was fascinated by all those prospects that could open up to me. Carefully wondered all the pros and cons. Therefore, of course, I did not think about anything else. Which he told his family. I did not expect such a drama! Mother swallowed sedatives, periodically fainting. My father really tore his hair with screams that I was spoiling my life. And, wringing his hands, he asked: “For that, you were the best at the institute to become a janitor?” To reach out to them and convey their position has failed and has not been achieved so far. It got to the point that they simply set a condition: either I find a “suitable” job, or I have to leave the house.

For me, this was an unexpected surprise. Firstly, I am registered in our apartment and have always believed that I have the right to live in it. Moreover, as soon as he began to work, he began to actively help the family financially. And I am very offended. But resentment is the fifth, it's not just that! You see, I'm worried about mom and dad. I don’t want the wrong perception of my work to lead them to the hospital. But I don’t want to quit my job either. Moreover, I only think about him. Who should I ask what to do in this situation?
